Daniel Magnus Gronau (ca 1700-1747) – należy do najwybitniejszych organistów i kompozytorów XVIII wieku w Gdańsku. W latach 1717-1719 był organistą w kaplicy św. Anny przy kościele św. Trójcy, od 1719 roku – kościoła św. Katarzyny, w latach 1724-1730 – organistą organów chóralnych kościoła Mariackiego, a od 1730 roku do śmierci – organistą kościoła św. Jana. Pozostawił po sobie 40 cykli wariacji na tematy melodii chorałowych. Zostały one nagrane w komplecie przez gdańskich organistów, z inicjatywy prof. Romana Peruckiego.
Daniel Magnus Gronau (ca 1700-1747) – is one of the most prominent 18th century organists and composers in Gdańsk. In the years 1717-1719 he was an organist in the chapel of St. Anne at the church of St. Trinity, from 1719 – the church of St. Catherine, in the years 1724-1730 – organist pf the choral organs of the church of St. Mary, and from 1730 do death – organist of the church of St. John. He left behind 40 cycles of variations on the subject of chorale melodies. They were recorded in a set by Gdańsk organists, on the initiative of prof. Roman Perucki.
